The layout of existing engine rooms often does not allow to accommodate a Ballast Water Treatment System. The solution is a containerized design.
As a practicable example, a 2 x 250 m2/h SEDNA® system is installed aboard a Container Ship since spring 2006 and works there with zero failure. The SEDNA® system is a fully integrated part of the ship’s ballast water system and is remote controlled from the cargo office. The container is delivered with all necessary connections for immediate start-up.
The loss of cargo space or load capacity is minimized as the container is designed and certified to permit a stack of 6 standard cargo containers on top of the SEDNA® unit.
